From Facebook Spark to Movement: The Story Behind the Elegant Rebellion
|
Happy Monday Reader, If you’ve been following my work on clean living and conscious choices, this is where it all comes together. Sometimes a few honest paragraphs can uncover a movement. Last week, I shared something on Facebook that I thought might speak to a few people. Instead, it struck a chord—over 80 people commented, liked, or reached out privately to say: “Yes. This is me.” Here’s what I wrote: "This is what The Elegant Rebellion looks like — one woman, telling the truth about her home, her health, and her life. For over 30 years, I’ve been refusing to live numb. I didn’t always have the words for it, but I could feel something was deeply off — with our food, our household products, our medicine, and the way women were being told to simply manage their symptoms and carry on. So, I began my own quiet rebellion. I learned where my food really came from. I began reading labels like they were clues. I asked why our homes were filled with synthetic fragrance, hormone disruptors, and “normal” products that quietly harm us. I studied what most people never question — our food systems, the toxins hidden in everyday products and building materials, the difference between symptom management and true healing, holistic medicine, nervous system repair, and our deep link with the natural world. Now I call it The Elegant Rebellion — a movement of conscious living where women wake up to what’s entering their homes, kitchens, and bodies… and begin to choose with their eyes open. I speak mostly to women — not because men aren’t welcome here — but because women make most of the decisions about food, care, and what comes through the front door. When a woman wakes up to what she's allowing in, entire households shift. I don’t teach perfection. I help women live awake — with health, grounded intuition, connection to the natural world, and quiet confidence in their own choices. Through my Green Living Now podcast, farm workshops here in Vermont, my upcoming TEDx talk, social media posts, and practical kitchen and home online courses & occasional workshops, I share what I’ve learned from a life rooted in clean food, herbal healing, and conscious daily choices. If you feel that quiet “I’m done living like this,” then you’re already part of The Elegant Rebellion. Welcome. Who's with me? Let’s live awake, together.#jointheelegantrebellion" The response made me realize that this isn’t just a post—it’s the beginning of a book. But before I sit down to write, I’d love to create a small Rebellion Circle—a monthly space to explore the practices and insights that will shape the book. Here’s what the Rebellion Circle will look like: Between sessions, we’ll connect in a private Facebook space to share questions, wins, and ideas. If you’d like to be part of this founding circle, just reply with REBEL25 and I’ll send more details soon. The circle will go deeper than anything I share here—part teaching, part conversation, part real-life transformation. Let’s live awake, together. —Amy |
