Learn to Grow Organic Food (Even Without a Backyard)
Hi Reader, Have you ever dreamed of growing your own organic food—but felt like you didn’t have the space, time, or know-how? I get it. I’ve been there too—growing a few greens on a sunny windowsill in my NYC apartment, in pots on patios and decks in Massachusetts, and later, in the ground (and for the past 16 years, on our organic farm in Vermont). But honestly, my inspiration goes back even further… My stepdad Ron, a chef and avid gardener, had plants tucked into every sunny corner of his home in Connecticut, plus a big backyard vegetable garden and compost pile. I still remember how exciting it was to visit him during the growing season to see what he was planting, maintaining, and harvesting—and how he used it all in his made-from-scratch meals (just like I do today). And my Great Aunt Jojo in Morgantown, West Virginia? She grew most of her own food and traded with neighbors for eggs and chicken. To this day, I can still taste her juicy beefsteak tomatoes sprinkled with a little salt. She lived simply, wisely, and sustainably—without even calling it that. These early experiences shaped my lifelong passion for growing clean, healthy food—no matter where you live. These days, during the growing season, I co-run an organic farm here in Vermont with my husband, Dave (who’s been farming even longer than I have!). And now I’m excited to bring all of that experience to you. Introducing my brand-new mini course: This course is perfect if you want to start growing food—even in a small space.
